Fall is my favorite season to restock my pantry with groceries. Over the summer I find myself mostly eating produce and, honestly, more meals out. Come fall, it’s my time to hunker down and cozy up indoors.

There’s just something so satisfying about preparing hearty meals with budget-friendly pantry staples. On a recent trip to Dollar Tree, I picked up three for $1.25 each. They’ve quickly become MVPs in my kitchen by already making fall-inspired breakfasts, lunches, and dinners a little easier and way more delicious.

1. Martha White Blueberry Muffin Mix, $1.25 for 7 ounces

Sometimes I snooze my alarm clock a bit more than I should, and for those mornings I’m extra thankful that I have a good habit of always having a breakfast item prepped. Lately I’ve been enjoying these perfectly fluffy muffins in the morning (with a side of frozen blueberries). I like to spruce up the mix with a bit of milk and add ground cinnamon in the batter. They’re good at room temperature for breakfast, or heated up and topped with some quality butter for dessert.

2. Starkist Canned Tuna, $1.25 for 5 ounces

Speaking of pantry staples, another item that I can’t leave the store without is canned tuna. I’ll make cheesy tuna melts on sourdough, or some perfect tuna salad (with Dijon and chopped pickles. This budget-friendly can is almost too convenient and reliable for quick meals.

3. Omega Brown Rice, $1.25 for 32 ounces

Dollar Tree’s brown rice is an underrated pantry hero. It’s nutty, chewy, and perfect for building rice bowls during the week. I really do eat rice every single day, and last fall I stocked my pantry with the Omega Jasmine Rice at Dollar Tree. This year I’m buying a few bags of the brown rice variety because it’s twice the size (for the same price), which makes it just six cents per serving.
