Peanut butter and jelly. Cheese and crackers. Macaroni and cheese. Some food duos are simply iconic (and meant to be). Every once in a while, you get to bear witness to a combination that has the potential to make its mark on the all-time list of terrific twosomes, like my favorite snack pairing: pickles and pretzels.
Pop Daddy’s Dill Pickle Seasoned Pretzels appeared in my campus grocery store at Oberlin College earlier this semester. I was already a big fan of pickles and pretzels on their own, but for some reason the fusion of flavors initially gave me some reservation. Then I had the first bite, and I knew these dill pickle-seasoned pretzels are everything I want in a snack and more.

What’s So Great About Pop Daddy Dill Pickle Pretzels?
Made in Michigan, Pop Daddy’s Dill Pickle Pretzels launched back in 2019, but it was only until two months ago that I tried them for the first time. I didn’t know what I’ve been missing. Believe me when I say that these pretzels are unbelievable. These brine-flavored bites have flown up my theoretical snack rankings, cementing themselves among morsels I would consider all-time greats. They are wonderfully funky, with a dill-heavy flavor.
The bag is resealable, ideal for avoiding staleness. (There is nothing worse than a stale pretzel stick. Nothing.) The crunch is satisfying, the flavoring is strong but not overpowering, and the feeling of throwing a fistful of pretzel sticks down the hatchet is truly unmatched. I can’t say enough good things about Pop Daddy’s Dill Pickle Pretzels.

This salty snack is one of 17 flavored pretzels made by Pop Daddy. This specific 7.5-ounce bag of hand-seasoned pretzel sticks retails for just under $3 on campus, but can be found at other retailers across the country, including Walmart for $2.98.
They are a magnificent mindless munch, a hit at parties, and, unlike other flavored snacks, they do not leave your hands particularly messy (making them a convenient scrolling companion).
