When you were growing up, your parents likely encouraged you to eat your veggies. They’re full of essential nutrients, like vitamins and minerals, and they’re also delicious. But chances are, your parents never mentioned anything about eating from your veggies. Well, that’s exactly what you can do right now with the adorable new mini Dutch ovens that were recently spotted on the shelves of HomeGoods.
Shaped like whole, true-to-size bell peppers, these mini Dutch ovens look like they were picked fresh from your garden — except they’re made from stoneware instead of actual veggies. They come in three colors: green, yellow, and red.
The mini Dutch ovens each have a matching lid that looks like the top of the bell pepper, with the stem serving as a convenient little handle, while the bowl part has two miniature handles on either side. Not only are they practical for serving small individual portions of soups, stews, pies, and other baked goods, but they’re also super cute in terms of decor. Imagine putting them on exposed shelving or in a display cabinet — how fun!
Fruit and vegetable decor has been having a moment as of late, from tomato-themed pieces to strawberry-themed bowls and dessert plates. And while plenty of fans can’t wait to adopt bell peppers as the next produce decor trend, others aren’t as into it.
“These vegetables don’t work for this trend 😭” wrote one seemingly bummed Instagram commenter. But others were more excited about the garden-fresh mini Dutch ovens: “OMG I gotta go to HomeGoods!!!” said another would-be shopper. “Omg looooove it all,” chimed another commenter.
If you can’t make it to HomeGoods but want to hop on the produce-inspired kitchenware trend, then you should check out Walmart. The store has equally adorable pumpkin bowls with a similar lid and handle situation in four cute colors for just $22 each — just in time for you to transition from summer to fall.
