There’s something about belonging to Costco that feels like a secret club. From the tried-and-true bakery goods to the Kirkland Signature items and even the beloved food court, being a Costco member feels exclusive and special.

But you know what’s even more exclusive and special than being a Costco member? Being a Costco executive member. Costco just established special executive members-only shopping hours, and it’s the most elite way to shop at Costco.

As of June 30, Costco stores will open one hour earlier for executive members, allowing them to shop without the crowds and long checkout lines. Stores that open at 10 a.m. Monday through Friday for all Costco members now open at 9 a.m. for executive members. And stores that remained open until 6 p.m. on Saturdays are now open to executive members until 7 p.m. Stores also open a half-hour earlier on weekends, too.

But that’s not the only new benefit that Costco executive members are getting. Costco is also giving its top-tier members a monthly $10 credit when they place orders of $150 or more through Costco’s “Same-Day” delivery service or Instacart. That adds up to $120 per year, which is only $10 less than an annual executive membership!

Executive members also get 2% back annually on qualified purchases and discounts on certain Costco services. If you take advantage of all of these benefits, it’s well worth the price.

For anyone who is looking to steer clear of crowds or likes to run their errands bright and early, the Costco executive membership is a really great option. But if you prefer to shop midday, the regular Gold Star membership is still an excellent value. After all, you can still get all of your favorite bakery items, Kirkland Signature products, and free samples — you just might have to wait in line a little bit longer at checkout.
