Anyone who looks at the size of my studio apartment would probably imagine I don’t have enough storage space to have a collection of just about anything. But when it comes to my cookware, I do have something of a Le Creuset arsenal, and it’s worth every centimeter of valuable real estate it takes up.
Le Creuset is known for its quality craftsmanship and beautiful cookware, but it’s also known to be pretty pricey. So when you come across any bargain from this brand, it’s worth noting — and stocking up. Recently, I discovered their new Cookware Storage Protector, Set of 2, which works out to $10 a piece.
When you’re investing in this type of cookware, you really want it to last for as long as possible. Designed both to protect that investment by prolonging the life (and livelihood) of the cookware itself and make the most of storage space (something I too very much need to do), these protectors are meant to be affixed to the rim of the enamel cast iron, so that there’s a barrier between the base and the lid when you are storing it. Doing that helps to protect the cookware from wear and tear in the form of scratches and chips.
Generally, the best way to store this type of cookware is to clean and dry it and then store it in a dry and clean cupboard. If you have the space, you can put it in a single row so that pieces are not touching. But many of us do not have the room to do that.
