There are certain kitchen items I always need more of, like spatulas, reusable straws, and measuring cups. For years, I was only using plastic measuring cups and spoons. But ever since The Kitchn’s Senior Lifestyle Editor, Quinn Fish, explained that she’s moving away from plastic in her kitchen due to the potentially harmful effects of microplastics in our bodies, I’ve been looking to do the same.

Eight months ago, I picked up a pretty stainless steel set at Walmart. While I still have my old plastic ones, I’ve been using them less and less. Now, I’m finally ready to say goodbye to them and fully embrace my stainless steel future.

What You Should Know About Beautiful’s 9-Piece Measuring Kitchen Utensil Set

My absolute favorite thing the brand offers, though, is the 9-Piece Measuring Kitchen Utensil Set. It has five measuring spoons (1/4 teaspoon, 1/2 teaspoon, 1 teaspoon, 1/2 tablespoon, and 1 tablespoon), as well as four measuring cups (1/4 cup, 1/3 cup, 1/2 cup, and 1 cup). They’re made from stainless steel, and the spoons and cup handles feature a gold finish.

They’re dishwasher-safe and come with a clasp you use to easily nest the set together. No more fumbling around with rings to get to the cup or spoon you need. Plus, the set is just under $23 at Walmart — that’s $2.55 per item.

My Honest Review of Beautiful’s 9-Piece Measuring Kitchen Utensil Set

I’ve been using my old plastic set of measuring cups and spoons for so long that the handles are actually bent from one too many cycles in the dishwasher. I got Beautiful’s 9-Piece Measuring Kitchen Utensil Set around the start of the new year, and I’ve been using it constantly ever since.

For one, the handles are still stick-straight and even the gold finish has held up after regular trips to the dishwasher (I never wash them by hand). Even though the brand says the set is dishwasher-safe, I was concerned the metal would tarnish over time and lose its pretty sheen, but so far it’s still going strong. It just has some minor staining, which is to be expected with stainless steel, ironically.

They’re durable and have stamped measurement markings that won’t wear off with use. I reach for the cups and spoons multiple times a week, while my plastic ones sit untouched in the same drawer next to it (until now — off to the donation center they go!).
