I’ve only just begun learning about the sheer amount of microplastics in my kitchen, thanks to our senior lifestyle editor, Quinn Fish. She recently wrote about why she no longer uses plastic food storage containers (spoiler: It’s because microplastics could get into our foods) — and she’s inspired me to do the same.

What You Should Know About Epicurean’s All-in-One Cutting Board
You might wonder how skate parks could’ve inspired cutting boards. The founders at Epicurean originally began by making skate parks that had paper composite on its ramps, and after gifting cutting boards from the leftover material, they were inspired to start a whole new company. More than 20 years later, Epicurean also offers utensils, a trivet, and serving boards, among other kitchen items in its impressive lineup.
While these boards might look like wood, they’re actually made from Richlite, a material made from paper and resin. They’re quite durable and dishwasher-safe (something that’s not true for my wooden cutting board), and start at $25. Plus, they have rubber feet on both sides, to prevent them from slipping around.

My Honest Review of Epicurean’s All-in-One Cutting Board
This little cutting board has become my go-to for pretty much everything except major jobs (like if I’m chopping up a ton of different veggies for vegetable soup). At this point, I use it almost daily to cut up strawberries and bananas for my breakfast, apples for a snack, avocados and potatoes for dinner, and even leftover meats.
It has two sides: one with a juice groove around the center and another without. I prefer the side without because I’m not usually chopping tomatoes or freshly cooked meats that would have some runoff. Plus, the fully flat side makes it easier to slide everything straight into my pan or bowl.
I appreciate the versatility of this cutting board, though. Plus, their size makes them easy to handle — and even easier to fit in my dishwasher.
