This Delicious “Cheese & Charbooterie” Board Was Such a Hit, It’s Become Mandatory at Every Halloween Party

For the last year-and-a-half my husband and I have been hosting board-game nights. It started during Fourth of July last year when we wanted a group activity that kept us out of the 100-degree heat in Southern California. Since then, it’s become a holiday ritual — we’ve hosted Halloween, Christmas, and even an Easter-themed board-game night (and yes, we have games to match each holiday). 

With Halloween (and my husband’s birthday!) creeping around the corner, I wanted to make this game night extra special and thematic. I typically make my own snack spread during these game nights to pair with the holiday, but I decided to splurge on something that caught my eye on Instagram (of all places). It turned out to be such a delicious hit that it just might become an integral part of our game-night ritual and Halloween parties to come.

You might be familiar with Boarderie: The company was named one of Oprah’s favorite things in 2022 and 2023, and it creates decorative cheese and charcuterie boards for a variety of everyday and special occasions. And the CharBOOterie Board might just be the cutest one. 

Each board is available in three sizes (classic, medium, and large), and includes an assortment of meats, cheeses, candies, nuts, crackers, herbs, and fruits. This one comes with some spooky additions like a bat-shaped yellow cheddar, white cheddar pumpkin and witch hat, and classic candy corn. Regardless of size, each ready-to-serve board includes fork pickers, spreaders, and tongs as well as an Acacia wood serving board. 

Although there were only five of us during this game night/Halloween party/birthday party, I decided to opt for the large board that serves up to 10 people to ensure everyone could have seconds. Not only was it enough for everyone, but my husband and I also had a generous amount of leftovers for the next day. The beautifully arranged board was perfectly on-theme with our game and drinks for the evening, too. 

Some cheeses aren’t for everyone (no one but me wanted the Wasabi Horseradish Cheddar), while others might have to be rationed so everyone gets a bite (my friends and I all agreed the Blueberry Vanilla Goat was the standout). We snacked on the add-ons, like crackers and nuts, throughout the night. Although I do wish the board didn’t require so much plastic (each section and all nuts are individually wrapped), I understand that it’s necessary for freshness and maintaining everything in its neat place. 

My friends were not just impressed with this charcuterie board — they all asked where I got it. One even said it would be the perfect thing to bring to her Christmas office party in December.
