What can’t Dolly Parton do. The country singer isn’t just known for her iconic music; she’s famous for her delicious food, too. Hailing from the South, Dolly has created hearty recipes and comforting home-cooked meals she grew up making. Last year, she launched her cookbook, Good Lookin’ Cookin’, with her sister filled with classic Southern recipes such as mac and cheese, country ham and biscuits, and barbecue spare ribs.
For those with a bit less time to spare, Dolly launched a line of baking mixes with Duncan Hines, including her famously fudgy brownies, buttermilk biscuits, and sweet cornbread to name a few. They’re so good, you’d never be able to tell they were from a mix.
One of our editors said the cornbread “was truly one of the most beautiful versions of cornbread I’ve ever seen.” Another said the favorite chocolate cake mix was “really good. Like, you wouldn’t know it came out of a box unless somebody told you, good.” I was equally as impressed with her vanilla and strawberry cake mixes, with frosting to match. In fact, they were so good that my sister said they “could pass for being from a bakery.”
With all these rave reviews, any time she comes out with a new drop, we’re obviously the first ones in line to try it. And this fall, Dolly has delivered once again. Just in time for cozy nights in and baking season, Dolly just released a new cake mix in collaboration with Duncan Hines: Caramel Sheet Cake.
Available in stores nationwide, the cake is buttery and comes with a rich caramel sauce to pour over top. All you need to add is milk, eggs, melted butter, and powdered sugar if you want the glaze to be extra thick and glossy.
