Mac and cheese is one of my go-to comfort foods, especially because there are so many delicious, boxed options you can grab at the store (and they’re so easy to upgrade, too). I typically reach for Goodles’ Shella Good, which features shell pasta and an aged white cheddar powder that makes for a gooey and savory combo when mixed together.
What You Should Know About Goodles Gluten-Free Shella Good
The gluten-free Shella Good pasta is made from brown rice, corn, yellow peas, chickpeas, xanthan gum, and chickpea protein, whereas the original is made from wheat flour, wheat protein, and chickpea protein. The new gluten-free boxed mac also has a bit less protein: 13 grams compared with 15 grams. The cooking instructions differ slightly, too — the noodles actually cook about a minute faster, and use 1/3 cup of low-fat milk (as opposed to 1/4 cup in the original).
Goodles’ Gluten-Free Cheddy Mac is highly reviewed, averaging 4.8 stars compared with the original version’s 4.6. So I’m fully prepared to love Goodles’ Gluten-Free Shella Good as much, if not more, than the original, along with all of my friends and family. Store this one away for a quick and easy meal (or side) for last-minute guests.
