As much as I love grabbing an iced latte at a coffee shop, it’s nice to just walk into my kitchen and brew myself an equally-as-good one at home. I usually use my favorite compact espresso machine, but I’ve been daydreaming of having something that just requires little more than the push of a button — and that is on sale.
Well, today is the start of Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days, which runs through October 8. So (checks watch) now is the time to get a coffee and espresso maker for less. But not just any one will do: I asked a former barista for her favorite home machine, and here’s what she recommended.
What You Should Know About Nespresso’s Vertuo Plus with Aeroccino Milk Frother
“I used the Nespresso Vertuo Plus with the milk frother for years to start my daily routine,” she says. “It’s the perfect cross between quick, simple coffee and a high-quality beverage experience, with tons of drink styles to choose from.”
This Nespresso machine and milk frother are currently on sale for just under $200. Carolyn says the milk frother is “the hidden gem” of this set, too. “[It] runs completely silently and can froth milk for both hot and cold beverages.”
And yes, that includes both espresso and coffee — and in a couple different sizes. For espresso, choose from a single or double shot; for coffee, you can brew either five ounces or eight ounces.
Plus, you’ll also get a capsule starter set with your order, so you’ll be able to experiment with some different brews before committing to any. Pop your chosen capsule into the machine (which determines espresso or coffee as well as size), push the button on top, and enjoy your cafe-quality coffee at home.
What Amazon Shoppers Are Saying
Average Rating: 4.6/5
“This coffee maker is well-designed and makes consistently smooth coffee with a rich crema. The pod system is straightforward, and the machine automatically recognizes the capsule type to adjust brewing for espresso, regular coffee, or larger cups.” —Stephen
“After a trip to Europe I was convinced I needed a home espresso machine. I asked for it as a birthday gift and my family bought me this model. I was pleasantly surprised to find it not only made espresso shots but a 7.8-oz. cup. The coffee it produces is way, way better than a normal cup of joe as it seems to make the liquid almost creamy. I’ve never had coffee like what this machine makes.” —Ronzy828
“Most delicious coffee and lattes right at home. I can’t say enough about how great it is.” —Alicia
