Limited-edition and seasonal grocery store items can be both exciting and heartbreaking for shoppers. While it’s always fun to try new flavors, it’s also disappointing to fall in love with one and then have to bid it farewell at the end of its run.
Sometimes those favorites are never seen again — they disappear into the collective memory of groceries past. But every once in a while a limited-time-only snack is so beloved that its return is inevitable, and that’s exactly what just happened with two popular Aldi potato chip flavors: Clancy’s Hot Honey Kettle Chips, and Everything But the Bagel Kettle Chips.
The Hot Honey chips combine spicy, tangy hot sauce with sweet honey for balance — what’s not to love? And, as you might be able to guess, the Everything But the Bagel chips taste just like an everything bagel. The chips are seasoned with onion powder, poppy seeds, garlic powder, sesame seeds, and sea salt for a flavor-packed crunch with every bite.
Both flavors were a big hit last year — fans took to Reddit to share just how essential the chips had become to their everyday snacking routine. “I can’t live without these. Seriously, every time I go to Aldi I buy maybe 3 bags,” wrote one devoted Aldi shopper of the Everything But the Bagel variety.
As for the Hot Honey variety, one Reddit user proclaimed, “These have got to be the most delicious chips to ever grace my mouth.” Another fan responded, saying, “Agreed! The texture is great, too!”
Perhaps one reason fans love these Aldi potato chips so much is because they cost just $2 per bag, which means they’re affordable enough that you might want to consider stocking up. These two beloved flavors may be back on Aldi shelves for now, but there’s a good chance that they won’t be for long.
