When it comes to grocery shopping, I have two budgets: one for the essentials (eggs, dairy, produce, rice) and another more flexible one for fun extras, like new products, snacks, or trendy beverages. The essentials list is strict and non-negotiable; the second only kicks in if the budget for the first one stays on track.

So when I heard about a cash-back app called Aisle that could potentially save me money on both kinds of groceries (but especially the latter), I had to try it … and I’m glad I did. Not only is it easy to use, but the offers are also surprisingly generous. I’m talking Buy-One-Get-One (BOGO) deals, full rebates, and dollars off everyday items. After using it for a month, I’ve already put nearly $50 back into my pocket — all while discovering new products I probably wouldn’t have tried otherwise. Here’s my full review.

So, What Is Aisle?

Aisle is a cash-back app that lets people shop, snap a receipt, and get paid directly via Venmo or PayPal (your choice). It connects users with exclusive offers from various brands, including BOGO deals, discounts, and even freebies. Once you purchase a qualifying product and submit your receipt, Aisle verifies it and sends you cash back instantly.

You can redeem offers on a wide range of popular name-brand grocery items at almost any retailer: Walmart, Target, 7-Eleven, Kroger, Whole Foods Market, and even Aldi and Costco, plus many more.

How Do You Shop at Aisle?

Shopping with Aisle is simple; it’s like many other cash-back or rebate brands out there, like Rakuten, Fetch, and Ibotta. It’s available as an app on both iOS and browser. Shoppers enter a phone number to create an account and then scroll through offers before heading to the store to shop. Here’s how it works.

  1. Browse offers: Visit the Aisle website or app to find current deals on products, or filter by grocery store, and click to activate any offers.
  2. Shop and snap: After you finish your shop and check out, take a photo of your receipt, or upload a digital one, and submit it through Aisle. (The company works with most major retailers like Target, Walmart, Whole Foods, Aldi, and Costco, among others.)
  3. Get cash back: Once your receipt is approved, you’ll receive payments directly to your Venmo or PayPal account.

My Honest Review of Aisle

I first downloaded the Aisle app in late July and, after a month of use, I can confidently say that it’s the easiest rebate platform I’ve ever tried. Plus, I’ve saved just about $50 and tried a handful of new groceries! Win-win.

I live right by a Whole Foods, so the most frequent place I used it was there. The first day, I activated BOGO offers for Tender Belly Bacon, Patagonia Provisions Tinned Fish, and Ellenos Greek Yogurt, which were priced $9.99, $7.99, and $2.99 respectively at the time I shopped. The next morning I found just under $21 back into my Venmo account, so I basically got a whole extra pack of bacon, canned mussels, and yogurt for free.

What sets Aisle apart from other rebate platforms I’ve tried is the simplicity. There’s no points system, no dramatic wait periods — just real money back in practically real time. I also appreciate that it works with pretty much any retailer. I’ve redeemed offers from Whole Foods one week and Target the next without any issues. Submitting receipts is quick, and payments usually hit my account within a day or two.

That said, the selection of offers can be a bit limited depending on your shopping habits, and some offers may only be available for a short time. So it helps to check the app before you shop, and just know that this is a good supplemental app for grocery shopping — not the entire shop.
