Depending on how recently I’ve gone on an organizing mission, my fridge could either be a neatly arranged bounty of fruits, veggies, and labeled containers or it could be a cluttered mess with wilted herbs in the back, forgotten leftovers to the side, and no organization to be found. But there are all sorts of simple ways to turn a crowded fridge into a pleasant home for your food and drink, and IKEA is leading the charge with affordable fridge storage solutions.

This summer IKEA expanded its KLIPPKAKTUS series, with a line of storage-oriented products for your fridge. This included bins meant for produce, and boxes designed to fit neatly in your refrigerator door. If these items inspired you to start transforming how you arrange your fridge, you’ll be glad to know IKEA is now selling even more of these clever food and drink storage solutions.

What Are the New IKEA KLIPPKAKTUS Fridge Storage Items?

IKEA has added two new products to its KLIPPKAKTUS line: an herb storage container and a canned and bottled beverage organizer. The herb container retails for $6.99; it’s made of clear plastic and almost looks like an oversized pill capsule. It’s designed to store delicate fresh herbs like mint and parsley to make them last longer.

The plastic chamber detaches from the base and opens up. Simply place your herbs in there, stems facing down, and snap the pieces together. Place the chamber upright in the base, pour some water in (there’s a handy opening to make that easy), and store the whole thing in your fridge door. This “watertight” design claims to keep herbs (and even asparagus, which you also should be storing upright in water, like a plant) good for at least a couple of weeks.

At first glance, the new IKEA beverage holder, which retails for $9.99, looks a lot like other plastic bins meant for storing canned beverages. However, it’s a bit more sophisticated than that: The bottom of the bin has adjustable holders to keep your cans and bottles upright and stable, and when you grab a drink the can behind it automatically moves to the front. It’s the kind of small detail you don’t appreciate until you have it.

Why I Love These Fridge Storage Gems

It’s great to have products you can store anything in. I just got a few of these rotating organizers that were on sale, and they’ve helped neatly contain all my skincare as well as all the random clutter in my living room. But sometimes, you have a specific storage issue that needs a specific solution — and these new IKEA products do exactly that.

The herb container in particular has the potential to be a complete game-changer; I know a lot about properly storing produce, but despite this I still find myself avoiding fresh herbs because of how unpredictable they can be and how fast they can spoil. With a simple, dedicated storage method like this, I can easily see parsley and cilantro becoming a regular part of my grocery list. Plus, it’s cheap enough that I can get multiple and keep several types of herbs on hand at once.
