If there’s one person to take food advice from, it’s Chef Gordon Ramsay. He has a reputation for not only for delivering painfully honest culinary feedback, but also for being one of the best when it comes to cooking.

With multiple Michelin stars to his name and more than two decades in the reality television spotlight under his belt, when Ramsay talks, it’s a good idea to listen. One example is his eggcellent tip for preparing eggs that he recently shared to his TikTok account.

In the video, Ramsay demonstrates his go-to technique for preparing a fried egg. It sounds simple enough, but it’s his attention to detail that really makes the final product eggstra special.

First, Ramsay starts by heating a little bit of oil in a pan, then adds a small pat of butter. As both sizzle away, he cracks an egg on his butcher block, then breaks it open into the pan. He adds a second egg in the same fashion, then seasons the eggs with black pepper, salt, and a few chili flakes. Once the butter starts to foam, he takes the pan off the stove and “rolls the pan around” so that the foaming butter cooks the egg whites.

Then he places the pan back on the burner and adds a touch of Sriracha and Worcestershire sauce before turning off the gas. The heat that remains in the pan finishes cooking the eggs, and the end result is an egg that has crispy edges, a fully cooked white, and a perfect runny center. Plus, they’re expertly seasoned, too! Say goodbye to less-than-stellar eggs for good.

Naturally, home cooks couldn’t wait to weigh in in the comment section. “This is how I learned how to cook my eggs and they always turn out amazing,” wrote one user. “Can you come make me breakfast, I’m hungry 😭,” said another — and honestly, it’s tough not to feel the same.

Whether you follow his recipe exactly or skip the spicy toppings, this is one egg cooking technique you’ll have to try the next time you make breakfast.
