You say potato, I say potahto. You say tomato, I say tomahto. You say Reese’s, I say Reesee’s? Whatever the pronunciation is, it doesn’t matter. All I know is the iconic chocolate peanut butter candy will always be one of my favorites. So whenever there’s a new flavor drop, I’m tuned in.

On Tuesday, Reese’s announced it is dropping a brand new mash-up inspired by school lunches: Reese’s Marshmallow Cup. The press release also announced the return of the fan-favorite Reese’s Strawberry PB&J Cup. Both are limited-time offerings.

I knew I had to try this new Fluffernutter-inspired treat immediately — so much so, that I drove to four different stores to find it. Here are my thoughts.

What You Should Know About Reese’s Marshmallow Cup

Nostalgia really is the theme of the year, isn’t it? We all love to reminisce on low-waisted jeans, Y2K jumpsuits, and now the Fluffernutter sandwiches so many of us loved eating for lunch.

That sort of appreciation for the past is exactly what Reese’s wants to capture with these limited-edition peanut butter cups. “Somewhere between childhood and adulthood, lunch lost its magic,” said Melissa Blette, Reese’s senior brand manager in the press release. “Reese’s is here to shake things up and bring the fun back with a bold, signature combination that is unmistakably Reese’s.”

Apparently, the new Marshmallow Cup is one of the brand’s most requested flavors on social media, and Reese’s Strawberry PB&J is back due to popular demand after its “strong debut” in 2025. These flavors are both available now nationwide, but only for a limited time. (I happened to find mine at Walmart, in case you were wondering.) The flavors are available in Standard Big Cups, King Big Cups, and Snack Size Bag sizes.

My Honest Review of Reese’s Marshmallow Cup

As a Reese’s purist, I was pleasantly surprised by the new Reese’s Marshmallow Cup. The top portion of the cup is just like a standard Reese’s, but the bottom of the candy is lined with a marshmallow-flavored filling. It’s gooey, like marshmallow fluff from a jar, but not so sticky that it gets stuck in your teeth. I love the proportion of marshmallow filling to peanut butter, too: It perfectly complements the buttery, slightly crumbly Reese’s peanut butter filling without overpowering it.

This cup nails the nostalgia factor. The last time I had marshmallow fluff was in high school after my dad picked up a jar. These Reese’s cups are so good, I bought two packages so my dad can also have a taste. My recommendation: Pick up at least one while it’s still available.
