Ten years ago, avocado toast, hasselback potatoes, and fancy doughnuts were a core part of food culture. I (literally) ate them all up back then and still do to this day. Another food find that has kept me going for a decade is a $2 bagged snack at Aldi.

What’s So Great About Clancy’s Pita Chips?

Aldi is one of the best places to buy chips. In addition to its everyday offerings of classic tortilla chips, potato chips, and other crisps, they regularly introduce chips with trendy new flavors. I’ll pick up a bag of the seasonal snacks here and there, and I will always toss Clancy’s Pita Chips into my cart.

These pita chips are the best I’ve tried, even beating out the name-brand bags. While other pita chips can be thick and bland, Clancy’s pita chips are the perfect texture: crunchy and crispy at the same time. I prefer the simplicity of the sea salt variety, though there are also bags of Parmesan, garlic, and herb-flavored pita chips for sale.

At Aldi, it’s just $2.19 for a 7.33-ounce bag, while the same size bag of the name brand costs $5.75 at a nearby grocery store in the Tampa area. (Note, Aldi used to sell the pita chips under the Specially Selected brand but recently changed to Clancy’s. I’ve tried both and love them no matter who’s name is on the label.)

What’s the Best Way to Enjoy Clancy’s Pita Chips?

Fattoush incorporates pita chips right into the salad, and that should inspire you to use these chips in place of bread and croutons in other salads as well. Try adding crunch to Caesar salad or this fruit and nut-filled summer salad. Southerners combine tomatoes and crackers for a simple summer side dish, and pita chips could easily be swapped into that recipe, too.
