So naturally, when I heard Jacobsen Salt Co. was restocking its popular strawberry-infused salt (in collaboration with Oishii, the premium Japanese strawberry brand), I knew I needed to get my hands on a jar before it sold out — again. After reading the reviews on Jacobsen Salt Co.’s site, I can’t wait to sprinkle it on top of everything, starting with my favorite pint of vanilla ice cream.
What You Should Know About the Jacobsen Salt Co. x Oishii Infused Koyo Berry Salt
Now, that super-popular strawberry-infused salt is back in time for topping your favorite in-season fruit, like pineapple, melons, mango, and, of course, strawberries. Plus, you can use it to finish a myriad of other foods and drinks, too: chocolate chip cookies, tomato toast, the rim of your cocktail (or mocktail) glass … strawberry margs, anyone?
This salt is flavored with the Koyo Berry, which is a varietal native to Japan. It “has a slightly firm texture, bright aroma, an eye-opening flavor, and a refreshing sweetness,” according to the brand’s website. The salt also has a little sugar mixed into it.
A 2.64-ounce jar of this berry-forward salt goes for $18, and customers can’t stop raving about how good it is. One reviewer wrote that they’ve “used it on everything and found nothing that it doesn’t go with.” Another recommends adding it to your coleslaw recipe. So, now I know what I’ll be making this weekend.
