Is there ever really a bad time for nugget ice? Those chewy little ice cubes you can famously get in your drinks at Sonic and Chick-fil-A have become so popular, people are looking for machines to make their own at home — myself included. I’m always keeping an eye out for a good, affordable nugget ice maker so that I don’t solely have to rely on fast-food chains for my favorite ice.
Recently, while scrolling through Walmart’s website, I stumbled upon the SPECSTAR Nugget Ice Maker. It’s not only one of the cheaper machines I’ve seen, at $136 (on sale), but it’s also highly rated by shoppers (4.7 stars!). Get ready to have nugget ice with every drink.
What You Should Know About SPECSTAR’s Nugget Ice Maker
The company’s Nugget Ice Maker comes in two colors: silver and black (although the silver is currently sold out). This machine can make as much as 33 pounds (!) of ice in just one day, so gas-station and grocery-store ice runs can be a thing of the past. You’ll even get 10 bags with your machine to stock ice in your freezer, and an ice scoop and ice basket.
It takes as little as 10 minutes for the machine to pump out the first cubes for your iced coffees and cocktails. (Try this easy Malibu Sunset to keep the tropical vibes going well past summer.) One reviewer called it the “best purchase I have made in a while.”
This machine is also easy to fit on the counter, given that it’s just under 11 inches long and a tad over 8 inches wide. That makes it a little bit smaller than my beloved Keurig that constantly lives on my kitchen counter. (It might need to make some room for a new neighbor!)

“Best purchase I have made in a while. I had an ice maker that my kids got us, but it was the bullets not the nuggets. I love my nuggets. There are only two of us, so it has no trouble keeping up.” —Teresa
