Despite the near-constant buzz of the importance of electrolytes and hydration, I have never craved coconut water the way I do Gatorade (specifically the Lemon-Lime flavor), or a flavored seltzer, or even just a cold glass of water when I’m thirsty in the summer. I wish I did!
I dream of tropical escapism. I just haven’t found a coconut water brand that has met my idea of refreshing. That is, until I stumbled on a can of Strange Water Sparkling Coconut Water. The best $3.99 I’d spend in a long time.
Complete with a beautiful, psychedelic label (originally created by and for musicians), the drink is my new go-to for any and all sunny days.

What’s So Great About Strange Water Sparkling Coconut Water?
No, this isn’t a coconut soda or a coconut-flavored seltzer; it’s pure coconut water that’s been carbonated. Strange Water Sparkling Coconut Water is one of very few of its kind on the market. The brand has only been around for a year, and I can’t believe I made it through every other summer before this one without it.
The drink itself is made from young coconuts from a delta region of Vietnam (Ben Tre, aka the “coconut kingdom”) known for producing fruit with especially high oil content. Strange Water Sparkling Coconut Water has an incredibly nutty, honey-like, and deep vibrant coconut flavor. It’s so pronounced that it makes me feel like all the coconut waters I’ve had before — even ones fresh from cracked fruit — were diluted from an extract.
Plus (as if that weren’t enough), the usual thickness and lingering sweetness of coconut water are cut by crisp bubbles in this drink that feel like the first sip of ice water, each and every time. You haven’t had coconut water like this before, trust me.
You can pick up solo cans in select grocery stores and retailers across the country for $3.99, or find it in four-packs at Amazon for $15.99.
What’s the Best Way to Enjoy Strange Water Sparkling Coconut Water?
The Strange Water Sparkling Coconut Water is plenty flavorful all on its own. I keep mine stored in the fridge and pop open a cold can on a hot day, and try not to slurp it in one go.
