Selena Gomez is known for many things: being a world-renowned superstar, beauty entrepreneur, and seriously seasoned home cook. Apparently she’s also known for having particular, sometimes even peculiar, preferences when it comes to desserts.

In a recent interview shared to Rare Beauty’s TikTok account, Gomez, who recently got engaged to music producer Benny Blanco, revealed that she would prefer not to have a traditional giant wedding cake when the two eventually tie the knot. In fact, the decadent and delicious treat she’d rather have instead surprised fans. And no, it’s not pickle-flavored snow cones.

“Whenever that day comes I do know I don’t want a big cake,” she said. “I think I’d want a mini one for just us that we can freeze.” While that’s certainly a romantic thought, what about her guests? What would they eat after they finish their main course? Well, that’s where Gomez’s unique (yet delicious) dessert idea comes in.

Her “preferred dessert would be biscuits and gravy,” she said. “My Nana’s biscuits and gravy. That sounds like dessert to me.”

While biscuits and gravy tends to lean more savory than sweet, who says that the “Lose You to Love Me” singer can’t go against the grain at her wedding? Just like standard dessert fare, biscuits and gravy is rich, satisfying, and a real treat — especially if they are in fact made by her Nana.

Despite all of the hypotheticals surrounding the couple’s wedding dessert, no actual plans are in the works just yet. But we can’t wait to find out what desserts actually make the cut on the big day.

If you want to experience Gomez’s favorite dessert for yourself, give our recipe for Instant Pot Biscuits and Gravy a try. It might not be Nana’s, but it might help you understand why it’s a must-have for her wedding.
