There is rarely a day I don’t break out one or more cutting boards in my kitchen. I currently have five: two small and three large ones. That may sound like a lot, but I often wish I had more, considering it’s pretty normal that I reach for one only to discover they’re all in the dishwasher.
I’ll usually grab something nearby — paper towels, parchment paper, or even aluminum foil — to use as makeshift cutting boards sometimes. It’s not a great solution, but it was all I had until I discovered the Mind Reader E-Z Board Disposable Cutting Boards.

What You Should Know About the Mind Reader E-Z Board Disposable Cutting Boards
I had never heard of Mind Reader prior to trying this disposable cutting board, and I was surprised to learn it’s an office and home brand with items like standing desks and chairs, desk organizers, bathroom storage and trash cans, laundry hampers, utensil holders, pour-over coffee makers, and so much more. As a company with smart solutions for practically every room in the home, its disposable cutting board actually makes a lot of sense.
The disposable cutting board is basically a 20-square-foot roll of BPA-free plastic packaged like plastic wrap, so you can zip off however much you need at any given time and recycle it or toss it when you’re done. The plastic is about as thick as a standard piece of paper, but don’t worry, it can stand up to sharp knives (I haven’t cut through the plastic once).
One roll is just $8.12 on Amazon and makes as many as 16 boards that are a foot wide and 15 inches long, according to Mind Reader, which is slightly bigger than my go-to cutting board. I usually use smaller disposable boards, so I will be able to get even more out of it.

My Honest Review of the Mind Reader E-Z Board Disposable Cutting Boards
When I first saw this disposable cutting board, I immediately knew I needed to try it. I’ve been using it for a little over a month now, and it has lived up to my expectations (as well as others’, considering it has a 4.7-star rating on Amazon with reviewers calling it “so convenient” and “perfect for cleanup”).
This is a perfect solution for my all-the-cutting-boards-are-dirty problem. With paper towels, when I’d cut juicy produce, like tomatoes and strawberries, they’d soak through it and cause it to rip. It was not an ideal situation by any means. With this disposable cutting board, though, I never have that problem. One side of the plastic has a tiny diamond pattern, so it doesn’t slip around all that much on my counter, either.
I usually use this handy gem for small jobs, like cutting one apple for snacking or chopping through a chocolate bar for baking. It’s nice that I can recycle it when I’m done and don’t have to add another dirty dish to my sink or dishwasher. Plus, as someone very concerned with cross contamination in my kitchen, I’m excited to use it for raw meat.
I don’t even think I’m halfway through my first roll yet, so I also love that I’m getting good mileage out of these boards. When I do run out, though, you can bet I’ll be grabbing a two-pack.
