As much as I loved my previous apartment, my current apartment has way more space to be creative when it comes to decor and even storage. I now appreciate the little, simple things like decorating my dining table (which I couldn’t really do before on my two-top bar table), and I’m more intentional about the things I buy to make sure my home feels both charming and functional.
Last year, while browsing at Urban Outfitters with a friend for cute trinkets, decor, and storage, I found the most whimsical mushroom vase: the DOIY Design Amanita Mushroom Vase. While red isn’t exactly my color, I loved the size, and I knew the mushroom shape would fit in perfectly with my home style. My friend ended up buying me the vase as an early birthday present, and since then it has become one of my favorite decor pieces that has proven to be extremely versatile.
I initially used this adorable find as a bud vase and small centerpiece for my dining table. I then started moving it all around since its shape and cheery hue instantly brightened my mood whenever I saw it. I’ve used it as a vase in my bathroom, on my vanity, and as herb storage (it even makes the inside of my fridge look cute!). The opening is also large enough to fit a few pens and pencils, thin paintbrushes, eyeshadow brushes, knitting needles, straws, or other small kitchen utensils.
