It’s not often I get surprised (read: especially impressed) by new-to-me cleaning products. I feel like I’m pretty happy with my tried-and-true products and tools that I use to clean my home, but every once in a while, I try something I don’t already use regularly and it replaces something else in my cleaning arsenal because it’s just that good. And this is exactly what happened when I tested out Scrub Daddy’s new stovetop cleaner.

How I Used to Clean My Induction Stovetop

I thought I had a few winning routines and cleaners for cleaning my induction range. I’m a longtime lover of the Cerama Bryte Combo Kit, which comes with a razor blade and holder, a scrub pad, and the cleanser itself. The kit works incredibly well, but it’s a pretty involved process to use it. First, you scrape off burnt-on food with the razor, and then you scrub the Cerama Bryte cleaner on the stovetop. You wipe it off and then buff the surface. The result is pristine, but it’s a process I’m only willing to undertake when the stovetop is especially dirty, maybe once a month or so.

The Scrub Daddy Stovetop Cleaning Paste & Scrub Mommy is right between these two products and, in my opinion, is just right. Let’s call it the “Goldilocks” of stovetop cleaners! I love that it comes with a sponge that has both a scrubby side and a softer sponge side for wiping away the product, which is so convenient. The paste is creamy and sudsy when used, but comes as a convenient puck in a round container that’s just the right size for the scrub sponge.

To clean your glass stovetop, you agitate the wet Scrub Mommy in the paste and apply it directly to the surface — and trust me, it’s way less messy than the other two products. At just under $8, the price of the Scrub Daddy Stovetop Cleaning Paste & Scrub Mommy is right in the middle of the other two products as well. Similarly, the effort and time required to use the product is somewhere between the Cerama Bryte and the Bar Keepers Friend. The Scrub Daddy combo is quick and easy to use like Bar Keepers Friend, but nearly as effective as the more involved Cerama Bryte.
