What Makes the Bissell Little Green Hydrosteam Portable Carpet Cleaner So Great
The device uses a combination of steam, manual scrubbing, and an included powerful cleaning solution to treat and eliminate stains on all kinds of surfaces: carpets, upholstery, grout, and even shoes and clothes. While it might look complicated, the Little Green is super easy to use. It comes with a quick start guide attached that, as you can see, I never removed — I consult the little tag for a reminder whenever I have a new stain to fight.
To use the Little Green Hydrosteam, you fill the clean water tank with water and the prescribed amount of Bissell cleaning solution. The machine has three cleaning modes: steam (for refreshing upholstery and cleaning tile and grout), wash (for enzyme-based stains like pet accidents), and SteamWash (for tough, oily stains and messes). Once the tank is full and the machine is plugged in, the water needs about 30 seconds to heat up. While you wait, attach the wider vacuum-like head for larger projects on carpets and upholstery, or the smaller multi-surface tool for scrubbing hard surfaces like tile and grout.
Once you’ve waited the half-minute, it’ll let you know when you’re ready to clean. Hold the hose over your stain and press the steam button to dispense hot soapy water directly onto your target. Scrub the cleaning solution into the stain with the attachment, then press and drag it towards you to pull the stain up and out of the fabric. Repeat this a few times, and voilà — watch your stain disappear!
The most satisfying part about using the Bissell is checking out the dirty water tank after a cleaning job. Yes, it’s sufficiently gross, but look at all the gunk you got rid of!
