
Shawarma-Style Beef Hummus

ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (or lamb, or turkey)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons shawarma spice mix (link)
- 2 (15 ounce) cans (~3 cups) chickpeas, rinsed and drained
- 1/2 cup tahini
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1/4 cup lemon juice (~1 lemon)

- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef, breaking it up while it cooks for about 10 minutes, then drain any leftover grease.
- Incorporate the onion and sauté until softened, approximately 5 minutes,
- Stir in the garlic and shawarma spice, mix thoroughly, and cook for an additional minute.
- Blend all ingredients in a food processor, adding water as needed to reach your desired texture.
