

Kluski z Serem (Polish Noodles with Cottage Cheese)

Delicious and easy Polish-style noodles combined with cottage cheese, often referred to as lazy pierogies.
ingredients
- 6 ounces egg noodles (gluten-free option available)
- 6 ounces bacon, chopped into 1 inch pieces (optional)
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- salt and pepper to taste
directions
- Begin cooking the pasta according to package instructions.
- In the meantime, fry the bacon and place it on paper towels to absorb excess grease, keeping the drippings in the pan.
- Sauté the onion in the reserved bacon grease until softened, approximately 5 minutes.
- Combine the pasta with the onions and bacon, then stir in the sour cream, cottage cheese, salt, and pepper before serving!
Option: If not using bacon, sauté the onions in 4 tablespoons of butter.
Option: Incorporate 2 cloves of minced garlic, cooking them after the onions.
Option: Add 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley right before serving.
Note: This dish tastes great warm or chilled!
