Its taste profile is akin to a fusion of Aperol and Campari: sweet and herbal, culminating in a bitter finish. Though it may not be as familiar in the US as its more renowned counterparts, its popularity is steadily increasing.
In contrast to other analogous liqueurs that utilize a neutral spirit, Cappelletti is produced with wine, lending a distinctive roundness to its flavor. The red hue comes from natural carmine, a dye originating from insects, similar to the original recipe of Campari.
